Notification of Student Rights under FERPA
FERPA is a federal privacy law that protects the disclosure of student 记录s. 每 在FERPA中，“学生”的定义是任何现在或曾经出席过的个人 EGSC and regarding whom EGSC maintains educational 记录s. - The right to inspect and review 学生’s education 记录s within 45 days of
the day the College receives a request for access.

Conditions Where Student Consent Not Required Prior to Disclosure
FERPA permits the disclosure of personally identifiable information from student’s educational 记录s without consent if the disclosure is:

- A task specified in his or her position description or contract;

- A task related to the discipline of 学生;

- A task or tasks necessary to maintain the safety or security of the campus.

The emergency must pose a significant and articulable threat to the health or safety of a student or other individuals. Disclosure may be made to 只有 those persons whose knowledge of the information is necessary to protect the health or safety of 学生 or other individuals.
